chinese adoptee collective (cac) publicly and unequivocally denounces the recent murders, violence, and terrorization inflicted by the u.s. immigration and customs enforcement (ice). we demand congress refuse any more funding for dhs and pass the protect adoptees and american families (paaf) act now. cac recognizes the nation modernly known as the united states of america occupies the unceded territories of hundreds of indigenous tribes and no one is illegal on stolen land #abolishice #iceouteverywhere
an estimated 45,000 people internationally adopted to the u.s. do not possess u.s. citizenship – this is largely due to a loophole in the child citizenship act of 2000 – and in october of 2025, ice detained a person who was adopted simply because they believed her passport wasn’t “real” and her family name didn’t “look like” her. update 2/17/26 :: we have made the difficult logistical decision to close waitlist registration for the 2026 cac conference. at this time we have over 150 community members registered, over 150 waitlist submissions and a venue capacity of 200. we are doing our best to accomodate as many people as safely as possible. if you signed up for the waitlist we will be in touch before march 15 2026 with an individualized update. similar to last year we will open a standby line for local folks closer to the event date.
in less than 90 minutes we hit capacity for our 2nd conference for people adopted from china. we thank each and every one of you who has supported our efforts along the way. it is an absolute honor and privilege to offer this opportunity to our community!!
